I was tasked with designing an informational graphic with personal subject matter, exploring the relationship between who is talking and listening.
Information must be clearly communicated through step-by-step processes with the use of layout, typography, graphics and illustration.
The design is overall clean and concise, this is shown through the use of the headings and numbers. They direct the reader on where they need to go next on the page; this is reinforced by the arrows pointing clockwise. For viewers that aren't big on reading this allows them to see the headings paired with the illustrations and have a good understanding of what’s being portrayed.
Strong use of information hierarchy has been used through the use of size, thickness of text and contrasting colours. This directs the user and makes it easy for the reader to know where they should be looking first. Consistent use of typography in the design helps the reader understand the importance of each individual text style, and ultimately helps the reader digest the information. The illustrations and colour palette make the design fun and interesting to read, making sure the reader doesn’t get bored whilst reading the text.
