Maggo is a streetwear magazine that takes design inspiration from 90’s Japanese fashion magazines such as FRUiTS and KERA.

Use of bold typography and colours is at the forefront of 90s Japanese magazines, making the user experience fun and entertaining throughout the read. It must house these features while still allowing the reader to absorb key information with the use of suitable layout.

For the cover bright and pastel colours have been used to give it a fresh and fun overall feeling, using a mix between bold/bubbly and standard typeface to further enhance this. A well thought out layout has been used building a strong hierarchy of visual importance, ensuring the reader doesn’t get lost. This has been a main focus through the whole design and layout of the magazine itself, keeping it a polished easy read while still possessing exciting aspects.

Each page features a colour from the colour palette keeping consistency all through the read despite each page having its own characteristics. Overall it’s been able to portray the likes of streetwear while incorporating the culture of 90s japanese magazines.
